What causes dark circles?
Dark circles around the eyes can be caused by a few different things
Lack of sleep
Life style habits… drug, alcohol, smoking, poor diet etc.
Allergies
Skin pigmentation

And even genetic … mother or grandmother also has dark circles
The skin around our eyes is thin, in fact it is the thinnest layer of skin that we have on our entire bodies, making it very easy to appear bruised with the tiniest blood circulation issue, causing what can seem like permanent dark circles around the eyes even when fully rested
What causes puffy eyes?
Fluid retention… can be caused by illness, pregnancy, fatigue and inflammation
Genetic… the same as dark circles this can simply be a gift of your genetic history
Allergic reaction… can often cause the swelling of the skin under the eyes
Dehydration… from either not drinking enough water or a hang over
Hormones… hormones fluctuating for whatever reason can raise the likelihood that your body will retain fluid under your eyes cause’s the appearance of puffy eyes

Cucumber

1 slice of cucumber for each eye twenty minutes
Cucumber juice
Step one
Dip a clean cotton ball in cucumber juice and gently apply to the delicate skin around the eye area
Step two
Leave to dry for about 15 minutes before washing off with warm water
Tea bags
The antioxidants found in tea can be highly beneficial to the delicate skin around the eyes, helping to tighten the skin while the caffeine is highly effective in reducing the puffiness and dark circles that can leave the eyes looking tired.
Green tea soothing eye compress
Step one
Take two tea bags (black or green tea bags are best) and rest them in warm almost boiled water, leave too steep for 5-10 seconds
Step two
Wrap them in glad wrap (or placing them freezer bags) and leave in the fridge for half an hour or the freezer for 15 minutes or until cool
Step three
Relax and place the cool moist tea bags over your eyes for 15- 20 minutes and enjoy the benefits of this great homemade remedy for tired dark puffy eyes
Note
Camomile tea is also known for its anti-inflammatory benefits in reducing puffy eyes and can be used in the exact same way as above
Milk
Milk has great lightening abilities for the skin and can be a very affordable option for dealing with dark circles under the eyes, which can have great results.
Use
Step one
Apply milk to a clean cotton ball and gently rub into the delicate skin around the eyes
Step two
Leave to dry for about 30 minutes before rinsing off with warm water
Peaches
Peaches are a great aid in skincare and no better than when dealing with dark circles

Use
Step one
Mash one ripe peach into a smooth paste
Step two
Smooth gently onto the skin under the eyes and leave for 20 minutes
Step three
Wash off with warm water

Mint eye cream

Use
Step one
Use fresh mint leaves, either brought or home-grown and wash clean
Step two
Place in a grinder or blender (can even be done with a mortar and pestle) with a enough water to mix into a paste.
Step three
Apply gently to the eye are for 15 to 20 minutes before washing off
Rose water
Rose water is a wonderful way to relive the stress of tired, sore and dark eyes.
Use
Apply to a clean cotton ball and gently apply to you closed eye lids, relax
Soothing eye gel

1 teaspoon of strained cucumber juice
1 tablespoon of Aloe Vera gel
1 tablespoon of witch-hazel
¼ teaspoon of corn-starch
Step one
Mix the cucumber juice, Aloe Vera gel and corn-starch together in a small saucepan and heat gently without boiling
Step two
Remove from heat and add the witch hazel stirring until well combined
Step three
Leave to cool till it forms a clear cream (almost like jelly) and transfer to a clean sterilized jar
Use
Dab gently onto the soft skin under the eye to refresh and soothe

Natural oils eye makeup remover
1 tablespoon of light olive oil
1 tablespoon of canola oil
1 tablespoon of castor oil
Steps
Mix oils together in air tight glass or container
Use
Apply to a cotton ball and wipe over the eyelids and the upper and lower eyelashes

The three oils combined not only remove all types of eye makeup easily but also makes a great moisturizer for the delicate eye area
Also the oils can be used separately, but make not work as well as when combined…

Eye Treatment Moisturizer

What you will need to make your natural eye cream
* 1 tablespoon (15ml) cocoa butter
* 1 tablespoon (15ml) lanolin
* 1 teaspoon (5ml) wheat germ oil
* 1 drop rosemary essential oil
How to make your own eye cream
1. Gently melt the cocoa butter and lanolin in a heavy based saucepan.
2. Beat in the wheat germ oil and remove from the heat.
3. Add the rosemary essential oil and then stir until cool.
4. Put it into a sterile pot and cover.
5. Smooth a dab of cream around each eye socket, working from the inside to the outside, over then under the eyes.
6. Allow the cream to absorb through the night.
